Imagine writing pasty reviews for a decade and not ordering them from Pasty Central. Couldn’t be The Pasty Guy.
I finally ordered Pasty Central pasties, and I don’t know what took me so long. I always thought their site looked straight out of the early 2000s (and it does), so I never gave them much attention. That’s a bad reason, but after seeing enough recommendations from others, I had to try them.
As of 2026, you could get four pasties for $55, six for $70, 12 for $108 or 24 for $201. That price goes up if you prefer one-day shipping instead of two-day shipping. You can order U.P. Style, Cornish, Veggie or Breakfast pasties. They ship pasties every Monday. They’ve been doing this forever, and it shows.
According to their site, they’ve shipped pasties to all 50 states and pasty purchases “help support care for the elderly in Michigan’s remote Upper Peninsula.”
I love this place.
They sell their pasties out of The Hut Restaurant north of Calumet, but I’m comfortable reviewing these as shipped pasties, not fresh from the restaurant because that’s how most people will be eating them.
The pasties almost looked perfect after removing them from the wrapping. As soon as I got mine, I put a few in the fridge and the rest in the freezer. Cooking at 350 degrees from the fridge usually takes me 30 to 35 minutes.
The crusts weren’t all perfectly crimped, but I think I can let that pass. There wasn’t a ton of flake in the crust because of the use of shortening, but I still thought they tasted on par with some of the best I’ve had. They may have not had that final touch, but they were what I wanted.
The difference between the U.P. Style and the Cornish is the addition of carrots. That touch of carrots actually made a noticeable difference in taste. Due to minimal usage of salt and seasonings, the flavor was pretty mild, but when you throw carrots into one of them, that added a little jolt of flavor, pushing U.P. Style above the Cornish ones.
Everything was diced and the meat was mixed in perfectly. Every bite had the same amount of meat and potatoes, which I can’t often say.
I believe these pasties were made to allow you to use ketchup or gravy, which is why the salt levels were pretty low.
The Pasty Daughter (just under three years old) preferred the Breakfast pasty. I think. The Pasty Girl also felt the same way, but she’s always liked breakfast pasties more than regular ones.
I always get questions about the best place to order pasties online and I think I finally have the answer. Notably, they don’t ship during the summer, closing that operation of the business from late May to September.
